Droom makes 100 hires from campuses to support growth

Online automobile transactional marketplace, Droom is on a massive hiring spree for full-time employment and internship opportunities in various engineering and business management positions. In keeping with its identity as one of India's most disruptive tech start-ups, Droom has hired 100+ candidates across the top educational institutions, B-schools and college campuses in the country. Being passionate, ownership-oriented and high on energy with a desire to break out from the clutter are important criteria to become an integral part of Droom's success story. With the latest talent acquisition activity, Droom will be ramping up its 230-member strong team to cater to the demands of its accelerated growth trajectory.

The e-commerce industry in India is growing at a rate of 40% y-o-y. Droom, even after crossing INR 1600 crore in annual GMV is growing at a rate of 500% y-o-y. It has expanded in 400+ cities and is constantly adding new features and services to its offering bouquet resulting in more manpower requirement. Its latest hiring spree is targetted at support systems such as calling Droom Assist department, product and technology, Ad Sales and Business Development.

Commenting on the campus recruitments, Babita Vaishnawa, Senior Director – Human Resources, Droom, said, “In 2016, several start-ups were barred from taking part in placement activities across prestigious institutions in the country. However, Droom is known to honour its employment commitments and is considers to be among the hottest startups in India, therefore we have been getting the top slot on day-zero across top campuses such as IITs, IIFT, and IIMs. In fact, almost 60% of the applicants are keener to work for Droom instead of Fortune 500 companies. This is a strong testimony to the exceptional professional exposure we offer.” 

With annual packages ranging between INR 7-15 lakhs and monthly stipends of INR 10,000-25,000 on offer, this is a lucrative opportunity for prospective candidates looking to work in a high-growth, start-up environment. Droom recently hired 75 students as interns and full-time employees from various prestigious campuses including IIM Lucknow, IIM Shillong, IIM Indore, IIFT, FMS, IIM Udaipur, IIM Kashipur, NMIMS, IMI Delhi, Great Lakes, IIT Roorkee, IIT Dhanbad, Delhi College of Engineering, MNIT, NSIT etc. in departments such as Product Management, Analytics, Marketing, Business Development, Android & iOS Developers, Software Developers and allied roles. It will be further recruiting 25 to 30 graduates from various IIMs and IITs this year as well.
