Cricinfo Mobile unveils mobile trivia game for cricket fans

Cricket-related mobile applications provider, Cricinfo Mobile, has unveiled Cricinfo ‘Trivia Champ’, a connected cricket trivia game for mobile phones, which allows users to test their cricket knowledge against other cricket fans across the country.

Users can participate in a weekly contest during the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy and the top Trivia Champs will get to win iPod Shuffles, DVD players, sunglasses, free subscriptions to Cricinfo magazine and many more prizes.

Speaking on the launch of ‘Trivia Champ’, Anil Nair, Creative Head, Cricinfo Mobile, said, “Cricinfo Trivia Champ is designed to bring out the competitive instinct in cricket fans. What we are aiming to provide with this game is a truly interactive experience where a user can test his knowledge against thousands of other fans.”

One has to answer trivia questions about cricket in the fastest possible time to get points. One gets bonus points for the speed. The game features a leader board where one can check his/her status against the competition. Cricinfo Trivia Champ has a basic practice mode to hone one’s skills before getting on to the online mode to compete against others who have downloaded the game.

Cricinfo Trivia Champ has been jointly developed with gaming company Dhruva Interactive. This is part of Cricinfo’s exclusive tie-up with Dhruva to provide cutting edge cricket products and applications on the mobile to users around the world.

Commenting on the game, Rajesh Rao, CEO, Dhruva Interactive, said, “This game has been developed keeping in mind the passionate Indian cricket fan. Whether it is the Cricinfo Genie or the Trivia Champ, our products always look to enhance the user experience on the mobile platform.”

Cricinfo will roll out a series of Trivia Champ games for all major series that India will figure in over the next 12 months, including the World Cup. It will also launch an all-new Trivia Champ version with weekly pay-to-play contests.
