Communicate2, a Mumbai-based digital marketing firm specialising in interaction design and Web promotions, has unveiled its expansion plans in India. The company is also bullish about the search engine market in India, which estimated to be growing at 30-40 per cent year-on-year.
Elaborating on the company's plans, Vivek Bhargava, CEO, Communicate2, said, "We are expanding in terms of people and new offices in India. We have recently opened offices in Bangalore and Delhi. We will shift to a larger office in Pune. Currently, we over 155 people working with us and we will be expanding our workforce to 350 people by March 2009."
According to a recent FICCI-PwC report, the online advertising industry in India is poised to cross Rs 2,000 crore by 2012. Bhargava added, “Search engine marketing is growing at 30-40 per cent in India and its growing at 50 per cent globally. Next year, I feel search engine marketing will grow by 80-100 per cent in India. The budget of clients has grown 300 per cent this year.”
Communicate2, claimed to be growing at 400 per cent YoY, has partnered with companies like ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Apnaloan, LIC Housing Finance, Reliance Money, Bajaj Allianz, ICICI Lombard General Insurance and Kingfisher Airlines, among others, to deliver measurable online advertising solutions.
Regarding competitors, Bhargava said, “We have two kinds of competitors – BPOs and digital agencies like BCwebwise, Starcom Mediawest, Pinstorm, etc. The advantages that we have over others are that we have the best search technology in the world. 1,700 people are involved in the search globally. Secondly, we get to work on global accounts and learn a lot from our global clients.”
Marketing communications group Aegis Group Plc had on June 12, 2008 announced the acquisition of Communicate2 in India.
