Ching's Secret, Pepsi, Bajaj V top YouTube's August 2016 Ad Leaderboard

Each month, YouTube reveals the ten most watched videos that received the maximum (both paid and unpaid) views on the site. In August 2016 three of the top ten ads were from India - including the number one spot.

In Asia-Pacific, well over half (60%) of YouTube watch time happens on mobile, but the list for August 2016 shows brands are thinking big on the smallest of screens. There’s a certain cinematic flair on display here: from Ching’s Secret’s list-topping ad, mixing post-apocalyptic visuals with a Bollywood twist, to Suntory’s ad at the no. 2 spot with its swashbuckling fantasy theme. But this list also shows it’s not just about movie-trailer style videos - on YouTube, there’s something for everyone.

  1. Ching’s Secret-Ranveer Ching Returns has got all the ingredients of a typical bollywood blockbuster including the songs, the melodrama and of course the culinary delight- all with a Desi Chinese tadka.

  2. Bajaj V commemorated India’s 70th Independence Day with a special rendition of the National Anthem. The anthem was arranged by Shankar Ehsaan Loy. It’s a tribute to INS Vikrant, and the brave war heroes who fought aboard her.
