BharatMatrimony was looking at opportunities in the field of automobiles and e-Learning portals, Uday Zokarkar, Head-New Business Initiatives, BharatMatrimony.com, informed exchange4media on the sidelines of the recently-held Digital Summit 2006 in Mumbai.
“With the launch of several premium cars in India, there is a market out there for in-depth information about the automobiles in one platform and empower people with the freedom to make the right choice,” Zokarkar said.
“The market for second-hand cars is also huge as the segment is quite fragmented and there is hardly any integrated information available,” he added.
Zokarkar further said that the e-Learning market “is already growing at a rapid speed and we may give a look at that segment as well”.
Since 1997, BharatMatrimony has been providing marriage-related services through its consortium of 15 regional portals. In December, 2005, the portal launched its property site, IndiaProperty.Com. “The site has been doing pretty well and we already have 30,000 listings on our site and it has already started making revenue for us,” he added.
The portal has also launched a job site recently, which, according to Zokarkar, had received a ‘decent response’.
