Ashok Lalla bids adieu to Mindshare

After a stint of six months, Ashok Lalla has put in his papers at Mindshare as Leader - Digital, South Asia. His last day with the company will be May 31, 2012.

Speaking on the development, Ravi Rao, Leader, Minshare South Asia said, “We wish Ashok all the best in his future endeavours. There have been a few interesting changes on the digital front at the agency and hence, we are not in a rush to identify a replacement for the role.”

Mindshare India had recently brought Kavita Dhyani on board to head the North operations for Digital. Previously, Dhyani has worked in markets such as South Africa and Dubai. Suraj Nambiar is heading West for the agency while Anita Bhat heads South. Rao said, “A structure is in place so while we are on the lookout for the right replacement but there is still time before we make any announcement on this.”

Details of Lalla’s next destination were not available at the time of filing this report. Before joining Mindshare, Lalla worked at Euro RSCG, where he was President – Digital and handled several blue-chip advertisers including the likes of Unilever and IBM.

Lalla brings over 18 years of agency and advertiser business experience to the table. He has worked on brands that cut across the spectrum. Earlier, he was Director of Internet Marketing at Taj Hotels, where he led worldwide digital strategy and e-commerce for the hotel chain for nine years.

He is also the author and curator of ‘The Future of Digital for Brands’, a highly regarded online global community of over 1,900 digital, marketing and brand experts, and enthusiasts from 38 countries.
