As Jio apps dominate on Google Play, AJIO makes a quiet entry

Riding on the waves of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’, it is evident as to why Reliance Jio seems to be taking the market by storm other than reasons like low tariffs. If not only in terms of advertising and marketing visibility, Reliance Jio is now scaling charts on Google Play Store. With various apps lined up by Reliance with the launch of Jio, it seems like Reliance has scooped up major installations and user base in India.

If you thought WhatsApp and Facebook were the biggest, think again. WhatsApp is No.3 and Facebook is No.12. Of the top 10 apps downloaded from the Google Play Store, seven are from  the Jio family.

Apps like JioOnDemand, JioPlay, JioBeats, Jionet, JioChat and others have flooded the app market making up for a majority of the top 10 apps on app stores. Seven apps have made it to the top 10 list for Reliance.

The MyJio app allows users to manage their Reliance Jio accounts, stands at 1st spot followed by JioCinema at 2nd spot, JioTV at 4th spot, JioNet at 5th spot, JioJoin at 6th, JioMusic at 7th and JioMags at 10th.

MyJio currently has 10 million downloads while the others have crossed a million downloads. The apps offer a variety of value added services like JioCinema has now become the largest destination for Indian films, TV shows and music videos even ahead of YouTube and Hotstar.

In terms of Mobile Wallets, the JioMoney Wallet sits at the 11th spot even higher than any other wallet service available. AJIO another app from the RIL JIO bouquet,  a premium shopping app has made a quiet entry in the arena of clothes, jewellery and accessories from more than 200 Indian and international brands.

These apps have hit the market over the past few weeks and have already seemed to have held on top spots on the Google Play Store. Infact On a deeper dive, Google Play shows that 11 of the top 15 downloaded apps and 12 in top 20 belong to the Jio family. All have an average user rating of more than 4-stars.
