ArtistAloud’s digital initiatives as it completes 2 yrs, Hungama Digital Media’s property, has taken the digital and mobile route to offer high-quality online video content as it completes two years in India. The digital company recently also revamped and subsequently re-launched its website, which offers access to more high-quality video content online.

ArtistAloud will broadcast a marathon nine-hour long Music Day online webcert on March 2, 2012 for the digital audience.

Following the revamp, the ArtistAloud website has been made device agnostic and is now compatible with all devices, be it computer, laptop or mobile devices. The platform will also be accessible through five touch points – website, WAP, IVR, apps and social media. The new website is built using HTML5 along with php, Javascript and Ajax. The online telecast of content can now also be accessed on feature phones, tablets and smartphones.

The new offering also avails multiple artists and multiple releases at the same time. As against the previous 30 seconds sample, the platform will now provide full song streaming on the website. As the penetration of 3G increases, rush of high-quality video is also expected to shoot up.

For the record, online video content and live streaming has been on a significant rise. Google recently entered the Indian market with Media Ads for online video advertising. Its archrival Yahoo! also announced its foray into the online video content space last month. 3G phone shipments in India has witnessed significant growth last year and contributed 8.9 per cent of total shipments in 2011. The base of 3G subscribers in India is expected to grow from 20 million to 100 million by 2012-2013.
