Aamir Khan's Dangal trailer views at 6 million+ and counting in less than 24 hours

The first trailer of much hyped Aamir Khan starrer Dangal has already garnered in excess of 6 million views on YouTube with the a majorly positive sentiment on social media within 24 hours of its release.

Overall, the trailer saw 6,825,886 views on YouTube at the time of writing of the article, a remarkable achievement by any standards. To get an idea, the trailer of Logan, the latest instalment chronicling the exploits of the X-Men member Wolverine, which also released yesterday, had just got 2,062,236 views during the same period.

The interesting thing here is that social media conversations have been seen from across the globe; not just India with users trying to make a comparison between Dangal and the Salman Khan starrer Sultan, which had released a little while ago.

"Within the first few hours of the trailer release, 7500 conversations were spotted on social media, growing exponentially by the hour. The movie not only attracted viewers from India but also globally especially from USA, Canada and Australia. However the overall sentiment was positive, on deeply analysing the conversations post the trailer release, an interesting insight was the comparison between Dangal and Sultan, the audience is excited to know which of the two acts will win the spotlight," said Heidi Myers, Director Marketing, EMEA, Meltwater Group.

According to Meltwater, the overall conversation on social media regarding Dangal on social media over the last 7 days were around 13,000 with over 500 news or media related conversations. The major sentiment, in excess of 45 per cent, was positive said Meltwater, which also said that conversations were "still growing by the minute".
