The communication business never ceases to surprise
and excite the mind. With the rapid evolution of the
advertising business, the industry has undergone a dramatic
change in recent years, leading to the issue of who
leads whom - creative or media. Then again, media houses
have never resolved the age-old internal friction that
has pitched editorial against marketing. Again, it is
an issue of who dominates whom. On another front, what
should be the structure of a media company for long-term
survival? And is there a right marketing mix for marketers?
At
the exchange4media Conclave 2005, the best minds in
media, marketing, advertising and communication converged
yet again - in Delhi and Mumbai -- to debate and introspect
on the state of the communication business.
A
high point of the exchange4media Conclave 2005 was that
fact that our Chief Guest, Information & Broadcasting
Minister Dr S Jaipal Reddy, used this platform to announce
three important policy decisions that would have a major
impact on the media business, be it Print, Television
or Radio.
