India gets 14 shortlists in Design; 2 in Cyber

The Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival 2008 announced the shortlists of the Cyber Lions and the Design Lions on Tuesday, June 17. India has got 14 shortlisted entries in the newly introduced Design category. There are five from JWT, three from Meridian, three from Leo Burnett, and one each from Contract, Rediffusion DYR and McCann Erickson. There are two shortlists in the Cyber category, both from Leo Burnett.

The five shortlists from JWT India include four for the work that the agency has done for MW.com -- ‘50 cent’, ‘Bob Marley’; ‘Jim Morrison’ and ‘Madonna’. The agency’s work ‘Burden’ for Care Foundation has also been shortlisted. The three shortlists from Meridian Communications are for WWF & Bangalore Bias – the entries are ‘Global Cooling’, ‘Ikea’ and ‘Money Tree’.

Leo Burnett India has two shortlisted entries -- ‘Luxor Posters’ for Luxor and ‘Getty Calendar’ for Getty Images.

Rediffusion DYR also has a shortlist for Getty Images -– entry titled ‘Frame’. McCann Erickson has ‘Match Box’ for Property Consultancy and Contract Advertising has ‘Affection Aids’ for Aids Organisation.

The two shortlisted entries in the Cyber Lions category are from Leo Burnett for the work that it has done for Luxor – entries titled ‘Pop Up’ and ‘Highlight what’s important’.

The rest of the day would see the winners of three categories being announced -– Radio Lions, Media Lions and Outdoor Lions.
