The entries that have made it to the shortlist of Films Lions were announced on June 25, 2009 at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. Jury President David Lubars, who was also the Jury President for Print Lions, seems to have exercised the ‘strictness’ rule in the Films Lions as well.

India camp is significantly disappointed with only three entries in the shortlist. Two entries titled ‘A Day in the Life of Chennai’ are from JWT India for the work done for Bennett, Coleman and Company Ltd. BCCL. And one is from TBWA India for the work done for Multiscreen Media.
