In an unexpected move, Zydus Cadila has awarded its media duties to Starcom. With this development, Starcom has bagged both the consumer products and over-the-counter products of the company. The account size is pegged in the region of Rs 15-20 crore. The incumbent agency was The Media Edge.
Interestingly, Starcom was invited recently by Zydus Cadila on the basis of the presentation that the agency made during the pitch processes for the business in 2003. Following the pitch then, The Media Edge had won the business of Zydus Cadila.
The agency is excited with the win. Manish Porwal, General Manager, Starcom, said, “Zydus Cadila is an esteemed client to have in any portfolio. For us too, it is a matter of pride that the business has come our way.”
Porwal also shares that in the recent discussion that Starcom had with Cadila, the agency’s presentation was more on what it had added in mainstream and diversified businesses in the past one and a half years, apart from its reaffirmation in transparency and strategic planning and reiterated its faith in the strategy they had earlier presented.
Cadila Healthcare is a part of the Zydus group, which has various subsidiaries like Zydus Healthcare and Zydus Pharmaceuticals among others. Among the company’s brands are Sugar Free and the Ever Yuth products.
