Yeh hui na baat: Shah Rukh Khan roped in to promote H-P’s Compaq Presario range
Hewlett-Packard India has signed Shah Rukh Khan for a mega promotion of its Compaq Presario range of notebooks and desktops. Called “Yeh hui na baat”, the campaign will kick off on March 1, 2006. Compaq Presario’s marketing campaign with SRK will reach consumers through print, electronic media, radio, outdoor, sales promotion and merchandising.
Ravi Swaminathan, VP, H-P PSG India, said, “As industry pioneers in home computing and mobile computing across the world, we have continuously worked towards positioning PCs as a must-buy consumer durable product. This Compaq Presario promotion with Shah Rukh Khan is an attempt to reach out to consumers across India and reiterate the Compaq promise of a world-class product, distribution and service quality that the brand offers.”
He added, “As the No. 1 PC brand in India, Compaq Presario offers consumers across geographies a brand value, highlighting leadership, success, performance, passion, universal appeal, and the best in its field, which brings alive the association with Shah Rukh in this promotion.”
Commenting on his association with Compaq Presario, Khan said, “In the 21st century, desktop PCs are not only a boon for professionals, but also a useful aid in children’s education. I have seen computing add tremendous value to me, both at work and at play, at home and on the move. I am a technology buff, my latest passion is playing games on my laptop, which is really addictive.”
As part of the promotional offer, Compaq Presario is additionally offering an H-P Deskjet Printer with the purchase of every Compaq Presario Desktop Computer, and a mobile Internet card worth Rs 6,500 with the purchase of every Compaq Presario notebook for free.
