Yahoo!, Marico, LIC Housing Finance roped in as sponsors for Effie Awards 2007

Effie Awards 2007, the effective advertising awards organised by the Advertising Club Bombay, would be held on October 12, 2007. Round one of the judging would be done on September 21, while the second round of judging would take place on September 28. This year, Yahoo!, Marico and LIC Housing Finance would be sponsoring the event.

The Effies, which also recognise the work of the client apart from the agencies, would be an open air event that is expected to bring the who’s who of the media world together for the event.

The Bombay Advertising Club is in the process of receiving confirmation from the prospective judges, who have been sent official letters for the same. Some well-known names that have accepted to don the judge’s mantle include Sunil Lulla, CEO, Times Now; Suman Srivatsava, NCD, Euro RSCG; Nitin Bhagwat, Executive Director, Interface Communications; Madhukar Sabnavis, Regional Director, Thought Leadership, O&M; and Sharda Agarwal, former Director-Marketing, Coca-Cola.

When asked about the number of entries received for the Awards, Bipin Pandit, General Manager, The Advertising Club of Bombay, said that it was too early for them to disclose any number.
