WPP Marketing Communications bags media account of ICICI Limited

WPP Marketing Communications has bagged the entire media planning and buying account of ICICI Limited worth around Rs 125 crore. ICICI has also awarded its international business to WPP.

According to sources, the appointment followed a two-way pitch between MindShare and Starcom, the media wing of Leo Burnett India. Earlier the account was handled by Ogilvy & Mather’s Media buying wing.

WPP Marketing Communications’ big local clients, apart from Hindustan Lever, include Pepsi, Kodak, Ford, Onida, Star, De Beers, Nestle and Electrolux among others. The Chennai-based Murugappa group had recently appointed WPP as its agency of record recently.

MindShare and Maximsie (WPP Media) are present in 60 countries and have 75 offices across the globe. With the launch of MindShare and Maximize, the media buying operations of Hindustan Thompson Associates, (HTA) Contract Advertising and Ogilvy & Mather India is consolidated under MindShare and Maximize.
