Worldwide Net access hits record 379m: Nielsen / Netratings Glob Access report

Some 379 million people are estimated to have access to the internet, and two-thirds of that figure now make regular use of the facility, according to Nielsen / Netratings Glob Access report.

Some 211 million of those recorded to have internet access also now regularly use the internet -- a 3.9 per cent increase in the ratio between those with access and those who actually use the internet.

South Korea led the 21 countries being counted by Nielsen, in terms actual web pages visited, logging an average 2,164 views per month, or 92 pages per online Web session -- also indicating they skim the pages at a faster rate than other nations.
