Women's Day beats Holi sale promotions this year

Even as weekend sales are on a rise, and retailers, especially, e-commerce players seem to be leaving no stone unturned to reap the benefits of any holiday, this year’s Holi sale promotions seem to be far less compared with Women’s Day promotions. Last year saw major TVC releases around Holi. This year, however, saw no such ads yet. But it is clear that, Women’s Day promotions did take the larger share of promotional pie for e-tailers this year.

exchange4media takes you through ecommerce players’ “festive” sale promotions this past weekend:

Snapdeal – Beginning March 4, the sale with the name “ShopaHOLIc” is offering deals and discounts on over one lakh items ranging from electronics, home & kitchen to fashion category. The sale will be live till March 6.

This is far less that what Snapdeal had to offer for Women’s Day. The e-tailer launched an 8-day shopping festival for the occasion.

Amazon - The e-commerce giant is running a Holi Sale Offer where it is offering up to 60 per cent off on Holi shopping. The brand has also launched Holi Store where it is offering big discounts on products like electronics , mobile , clothes , fashion products, etc.

Amazon, too, had a week-long shopping gala on account of Women’s Day.

Flipkart: The brand flashed Holi sale only on the day of the festiva, whereas, Women’s Day offers and promotions were active for over a week.

Other prominent brands like Myntra, Zivame and Jabong did not have any official promotions for Holi, apart from the sales flashed on the day itself. However, all these brands began Women’s Day sales much in advance. Here are some excerpts:
