VSNL tariff cut: Industry sees more to it than meets the eye

While some feel that the price cut is not big enough and the actual competition will begin after private gateways come in. On the face of it, this sounds good as VSNL has finally conceded to the industry’s demand of reducing the price of bandwidth. The reduction is a positive step as this will bring down the prices and will be beneficial for the industry at large, since price cuts will be passed down to the end users, said Mr Rahul Swaroop, chief technology officer, Satyam Infoway Limited.
