VSNL plans to launch DTH by October

VSNL plans to put in place its DTH broadcasting platform by October. Touted and ‘neutral ‘ platform wholly-owned by VSNL, plans are afoot to offer over 70 channels—including two Internet channels. The telecom major plans to invest around Rs 80 crore for putting in place the platform over the next year at an estimated project cost of Rs 250 crore.

Apart from the regular bouquet of channels, the DTH service will offer several premium channels including Internet-related value added services. Plans are afoot to organise a DTH workshop in this regard in Mumbai later this month. Talks for alliances with various content partners are expected to being thereafter.
