VSNL plans double Net subscribers

Videsh Sanchar Nigam (VSNL) is planning to double its Internet subscriber base to 10 lakh in the current fiscal. During fiscal 2000-01, the company has achieved a subscriber-base of over 5.7 lakh, registering a growth of 85 per cent. This is despite a downturn in the economy.

As part of its expansion plans, VSNL is planning to launch Net services in Goa, Indore, Thiruvananthapuram and Hyderabad this month.
