Visa TVC brings to life 1983 World Cup heroes

Visa International has launched a TVC for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007. The heroes of the 1983 Indian World Cup winning side -- Mohinder Amarnath, Syed Kirmani and Kris Srikanth -- have teamed up with music maestros Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy in this commercial. RK Swamy BBDO has conceptualised and developed this TVC.

Visa is the regional official sponsor and the ‘Preferred Card’ of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007.

Santanu Mukherjee, Country Manager–South Asia, Visa International Asia Pacific, said, “We are proud to be associated with a sporting event of this stature and the launch of the Visa Inspiring India TV Commercial voices our support for the game of cricket in our part of the world.”

The 30- and 60-second spots have been running on television since March 13 across several leading news, movie, sports, music, English entertainment and regional channels. There are also plans for the commercial to be aired in cinemas across India.

Mukherjee elaborated, “Visa recognises that cricket is a sport that is supported by millions of fans across the country and the region. We hope the commercial helps to symbolise our own support, passion, encouragement and inspiration to the fans and to the Indian cricket team.”

The commercial communicates Visa’s messages of inspiration, encouragement and leadership.
