Those who loved Shah Rukh Khan delivering dialogues in his inimitable style in ‘Uyire’ (the Tamil dubbed version of Mani Ratnam’s ‘Dil Se’), will get love him saying a mouthful ‘Vanakkam, neengal parthukondu irupadhu ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (Welcome, you are watching ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’) courtesy Vijay TV. The Tamil satellite channel from the STAR stable is gearing up to telecast KBC in Tamil.
Ravinath Menon, General Manager, Vijay TV, said, “The hunt for the perfect voice to blend with that of SRK is still on; many eager dubbing artistes have come forward and have expressed their interest to be part of this show. We will zero in on the suitable voice very soon.”
“The question promos are on high rotation on Vijay TV, giving Tamil viewers equal opportunity to be part of the show. We hope to see more Tamil viewers getting into the hot seat with Shah Rukh and play for the highest prize money. We are also planning different interactive plug-ins around the Tamil version to make it more interesting to Vijay TV viewers,” Ravinath further said.
The show would commence on January 23 at 7 pm, a time band which is already successful with ‘Swamy Iyappan’, which has garnered impressive numbers for Vijay TV. “Several national and retail advertisers have already expressed keen interest and are happy to be associated with a show of such grandeur and scale. Some of the clients who have already confirmed their association are Airtel, Hyundai, Motorola, KRBL, HDFC Standard Life, Univercell and Cadbury,” Ravinath said.
Meanwhile, Satish Babu, Managing Director, Univercell Telecommunications, said, “KBC and SRK are two big brands with immense popularity, more so as Shah Rukh Khan takes over from Big B. The expectations and interest levels are much higher, especially among the youth. Vijay TV, with its differentiated and innovative programming, is the right platform for Univercell to associate with.”
According to Vijay TV sources, KBC would be supported by an extensive on ground campaign spread across various media, with hoardings in Chennai and a road show in Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai. Specially designed KBC merchandise would be given to the audience during the road show.
