TVS signs up Sachin Tendulkar as brand ambassador

TVS Motor Company, the Chennai based automotive group has signed up Sachin Tendulkar as their brand ambassador. TVS Motors, which was formerly known as TVS Suzuki Ltd has a range of two wheelers under its umbrella. The Suzuki and Victor range of Mobikes, Spectra range of Scooters and TVS Scooty, are a few famous products from the company’s fold.

The company has a 23% market share in the two wheeler segment and is the leader in the fast growing vario-scooter (Scooty) market with a market share of 34%. Though the exact brand to be endorsed by Sachin is not yet known but cricket players seem to be much in demand when it comes to promoting bikes and cars. Sachin was also the brand ambassador for the recently launched Fiat Palio and his captain Sarav Ganguly was seen promoting the Hero Honda range of motorbikes in the latest Desh Ki Dhadkan campaign.

Suzuki Fiero and TVS Victor are some of the products that could be endorsed by Sachin.

Unversal McCann handles the media AOR of TVS. The creative accounts are handled by different agencies. The exact size of the deal is not known.

Sachin had recently appointed World Tel as his marketing agency but the untimely demise of Mark Mascarhenas has cast a shadow of doubt over the future of the deal.
