Cannes Lions 2012 has announced the shortlist for the PR Lions category. Only one entry out of 19 submitted from India has made it to the shortlist.
The agency that will be competing for the laurels in this category is The Practice Porter Novelli, Bangalore for its entry ‘HP Write&Read’ for HP India. The entry has been shortlisted in the Best Integrated Campaign Led by PR sub-category.
Gail Heimann, Vice Chair, Weber Shandwick is the Jury President and Sunil Gautam, Director, Hanmer MSL Communications is the Jury Member from India in the category this year.
The number of entries submitted by Indian agencies has gone up from 14 entries last year to 19 this year. There is an increase in total number of entries also, with 1130 entries competing in this competition, as compared 819 entries in 2011.
PR Lions, launched in 2009, aims to honour the creative use of reputation management by the building and preservation of trust and understanding between individuals, businesses or organisations and their publics. The Jury, made up of senior practitioners from international PR agencies and consultancies, have judged the entries based on four aspects: Strategy & Research, Execution, Creativity & Originality and Documented Results.
The PR Lions trophies will be presented during the Promo & Activation, PR and Direct Lions awards ceremony, which will take place on Monday evening, June 18 at the Grand Auditorium, Palais des Festivals.
