The One Show Announces 2016 Finalists, McCann Worldgroup leads the pack from India

One Club has announced the film, cross-platform, direct and print and outdoor finalists for the 43rd Annual One Show Awards, the worldwide competition celebrating the year's best in all forms of advertising, design and marketing communications.  There are finalists from 40 countries.

McCann Worldgroup has 10 nominations across the categories. It has two nominations for Jivdaya Charitable (Kite) Trust in Non-Profit: Print and Ambient / Environmental; eight for Dabur Gastrina; one in Craft: Art Direction and nine for consumer goods (Small Space Print – Single (2), Small Space Print – Campaign (1), Collateral – Posters – Single (2),Collateral – Posters – Campaign (1) and Ambient Media (Indoor & Outdoor) (1)). The other nomination is for Craft: Art Direction.

Ogilvy & Mather has three nominations; two for Make Love Not Scars (Mumbai) in Non-Profit: Integrated Branding and Online Films & Video and one for Philips India (Gurgaon) in the Consumer: Magazine – Full Page or Spread – Single category.

BBDO India-Mumbai also has three nominations for P&G India one in the Consumer: Integrated Branding – Online category and two for Corporate Social Responsibility: Collateral and Ambient (Indoor & Outdoor).

Out of the Box, New Delhi also has two nominations for Mother’s Pride in the Consumer: Print – Flat Mailing and Collateral – Promotional Items – Single or Campaign categories. 

One Show judges shared some of their observations about the work they saw in their respective disciplines this year:

Malcolm Poynton (Direct), Global CCO, Cheil Worldwide/London said, “Emoji keyboards are everywhere.”

Icaro Doria (Cross-Platform), CCO, DDB/New York said, “There’s a lot of attempts to do interesting things with VR.”

Ben Tollett (Film), ECD, adam&eveDDB/London said,“The old distinctions between online film and offline are becoming more blurred.”

Eugene Cheong (Print & Outdoor), CCO, Ogilvy & Mather/Asia Pacific/Singapore said,“Print is now so closely linked with the Internet.”
