The Hindu Group forays into Bengal, launches Business Line in Kolkata

The Hindu Group has made its eastern India foray with the launch of the Kolkata edition of Business Line on October 26. This is the 14th edition of Business Line, which occupies the second spot among financial dailies in the country. Business Line is currently available in Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Madurai, Mangalore, Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram, Yiruchirapalli, Vijayawada and Visakhpatnam.

Commenting on the development, N Murali, Managing Director, Kasturi and Sons, Publishers of Hindu Group of Publications, said, “We decided to launch the Kolkata edition of the Business Line as West Bengal, especially Kolkata, is witnessing a resurgence of business and industrial activity and a lot of foreign direct investment is also flowing in. Besides, this was the only metropolitan city where the Business Line was not present in. With the launch of Business Line in Kolkata, the long-felt need of the corporate and industry people would be fulfilled.”

The newspaper is being printed at Bengali daily Aaj Kal’s printing press.
