Tata Docomo on the lookout for media partner

Close on the heels of meeting with creative agencies (Tata Docomo meets creative agencies), Tata Docomo has now called for a media pitch, as confirmed by industry sources. The initial round of the multi-agency pitch took place in Delhi earlier this week. Lodestar UM is currently handling the media duties for the brand.

Draftfcb+Ulka Advertising currently handles the creative duties for the brand.

The brand hit the news waves for its ad campaign starring its brand ambassador Ranbir Kapoor seen in an old man avatar as a restaurant owner giving the message of ‘Pay for what you use’ benefit of Tata Docomo. The brand was also the associate sponsor of IPL-5. By roping in Ranbir Kapoor for its IPL campaign, Tata Docomo strengthened its position as a sports enthusiast brand.

Tata Docomo also launched ‘Don’t leave speed to luck’, a two-part TVC series last year, which emphasised that when it comes to mobile internet speed, one should trust Tata Docomo.

Tata Docomo is part of the Tata Group and is estimated to be the sixth largest operator in terms of subscribers. Tata Teleservices and NTT Docomo came together in a joint venture in 2008 to form Tata Docomo.
