TapRoot India has won the creative mandate for Airtel’s Data Services campaign for this year. The win comes after a multi-agency pitch that was held in New Delhi with participation from JWT, TapRoot India and BBDO.
Industry sources have confirmed the news to exchange4media; however, no official confirmation could be obtained from Airtel or TapRoot at the time of filing this report. Size of the account could not be ascertained, though it’s considered to be substantial.
Sources inform that the campaign would be targeted towards increasing internet penetration in India, thereby adding to the data services solutions business of the telecom giant.
While JWT is the AoR (Agency on Record) for Airtel, TapRoot delivered one of most memorable ‘Har Friend Zaroori’ campaign for Airtel last year. The mandate for TapRoot now will be to promote data services solutions offered by Airtel including its Broadband, 2G, 3G and recently launched 4G services.
TapRoot has also worked on Airtel’s Value Added Services campaign this year. However, the Airtel Money, Airtel Music and Airtel DTH campaigns were executed by JWT.
