Taproot’s ‘A day in a life of India’ for Bennett, Coleman & Co has made it to the coveted Titanium and Integrated Lions shortlist announced today at the 59th International Festival of Creativity. Last year there was no Indian shortlist in this category.
Compared to the 11 entries from India last year, this year saw the country entering 17 pieces of work in the Titanium and Integrated Lions category. Overall, the number of entries in this category has gone up from 480 in 2011 to 517 this year.
Rob Reilly, Worldwide Chief Creative Officer, Crispin Porter + Bogusky is the Jury President of this category and Agnello Dias, Chief Creative Officer, Taproot India is the Jury Member from India. Dias is the second Indian creative professional to be part of the elite Titanium and Integrated Jury at Cannes Lions.
The Titanium Lion, brainchild of Dan Wieden, was originally introduced in 2003 to reward ground-breaking and innovative concepts in the world of advertising and marketing.
In 2005, Titanium Lions was re-launched as an Integrated Campaign category, but specifically to celebrate integrated communication with a difference, with the jury looking for work with an edge, a risk, a challenge to the norm. Therefore, in 2006, entries were not restricted to a set number of executions or types of channel. But as before, there was no limitation to the boundaries of the media used. There were also no categories in Titanium Lions.
The Titanium and Integrated trophies will be presented during the Film, Film Craft, Creative Effectiveness and Titanium and Integrated awards ceremony, which will take place on Saturday evening, June 23, 2012, at the Grand Auditorium, Palais des Festivals.
