Srinivasan K Swamy appointed Vice Chairman of Asian Federation of Advertising Associations

The Asian Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA) in its recent meeting in Taipei has elected Srinivasan K Swamy, representing the Advertising Council of India (ACI), as Vice Chairman. Raymond So, representing the Taipei Association of Advertising Agencies (TAAA) was elected as the Chairman of its Executive Committee for a period of four years while Ramesh Narayan, also representing ACI, was elected Chief Strategy Officer.

Speaking on his appointment, Swamy said “It is an honour to be elected the Vice Chairman of AFAA. Our goal will be to take the excellent work done by AFAA members to new heights across Asia. I look forward to greater cooperation and participation from all member countries." He reiterated AFAA'S involvement in the IAA Olive Crown awards in India and said this was an example of how Industry Associations could jointly work on issues of common interest. He also lauded the role of the Advertising Council of India in actively supporting AFAA 's Fast Track program that helps young professionals in the industry.

The new four-person Executive Committee along with Ramesh Narayan includes: Lee Soon Dong , Chief Revenue Officer, Korea Federation of Advertising Associations, Bharat Avalani, Chief Knowledge Officer,  Malaysian Advertisers Association and Harris Thajeb, Chief Marketing Officer,  Komisi Periklanan, Indonesia.

AFAA is well known in the Asian region for the biennial AFAA AdAsia Congress. AdAsia 2017 will be held in Bali in November. AFAA has also helped establish the DigiAsia (14-17 November, 2016 in Taipei) and the AFAA Fast Track, a professional training programme which will be held early next year in Kuala Lumpur.
