Online shopping site Snapdeal.com is meeting creative agencies, confirm industry sources. The e-commerce major has been meeting creative agencies in Delhi, industry sources indicate that Snapdeal is looking for an agency for its upcoming festive campaign. There has also been talk since a few months of the brand looking for a bigger agency to handle its creative mandate. The brand concluded its creative pitch at the end of last year; Leo Burnett was awarded its creative duties. The agency’s recent campaign includes ‘Dil Ki Deal’ with Aamir Khan for the brand.
The brand launched its biggest marketing campaign last Diwali across electronic and print media focusing on Diwali shopping on Snapdeal.com. For this campaign, the brand had signed up 28 celebrities including leading TV actors from popular TV shows to create 50 different commercials. Each commercial showcased these celebrities endorsing the Snapdeal Diwali Bumper Sale while playing their characters in a quirky manner.
Snapdeal.com aimed to reach its varied customer base across metros and Tier II & III cities by bringing on board celebrities that consumers from all backgrounds can relate to.
Keeping in mind that ecommerce players ruled the roost when it came to festive spends last year, Snapdeal seems to gearing up for upcoming festive season.
