After being associated with the brand for more than 5 years, Shah Rukh Khan is set to play a much larger role than just being a brand ambassador for Pepsi. According to sources SRK is set to make his directorial debut for ad films soon.

Pepsi which has been a youth icon in the country for more than a decade now has asked the badshah of bollywood to direct an ad which features the actor and another bollywood sensation Kareena Kapoor. Interestingly Shah Rukh''s first big screen pair up with Kareena also happened for his home production Asoka last year. Though the movie didn''t exactly set the box office on fire but the pair did become quite a hit.

Sources working on the deal say that since Shah Rukh has been associated with Pepsi for a long time he understands the brand very well. His experience in front and behind the camera will certainly help the cola major to create a unique advertising campaign this summer.

Given the rate at which celebrities are being lapped up by cola majors this summer, remember Coke has already released campaigns with Sunil Gavaskar, Virender Sehwag and Sushmita Sen in the last few days and Pepsi with Sachin & Amitabh, it seems that both the companies will make the actors do whatever it takes to sell that extra bottle of soft drink.
