Several Indian agencies in fray at 2007 Promax and BDA World Gold Awards

Finalists for the 2007 Promax and BDA World Gold Awards have been announced, with close to eight Indian agencies finding a place in the list. The Promax/BDA Awards are considered to recognise excellence in on-air and off-air promotion, design and marketing for the visual media.

This year, the awards have reportedly received over 11,500 entries, making it a record year for number of entries submitted. The winners will be announced at the Promax/BDA Conference in New York between June 12 and 14 this year.

While Star India leads the Indian finalists with 18 nominations for Promax and one for BDA, Media Content and Communications Service (MCCS) has managed 15 finalist positions with eight for BDA and seven for Promax.

The other finalists include FILMY, Sahara One Media & Entertainment with four listings in both the awards; Nick India, MTV Networks with six listings for Promax Awards; SET India with four listings each in Promax and BDA; Television Eighteen India with one each in both awards; and Discovery Communications India with a single nomination in Promax.

Indian entries have been selected in numerous categories at both the awards. Some of the nominated categories include film crafts like Direction, Editing, Original Score, etc. Most of the nominations are for the Promax World Gold Awards for categories like Branding/Image, Animation promotions and Out of House Promotions, among others.
