Scotiabank, GCC announce new sponsorship of ICC Cricket World Cup 2007

Global Cricket Corporation (GCC) has announced that Scotiabank will be the regional official sponsor of the ICC Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007, for the Caribbean and North and Central American regions. The ICC Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007 will take place in March and April next year in eight islands in the Caribbean and Guyana.

Said ICC President, Ehsan Mani, “It really is great news that Scotiabank has become a regional official sponsor for next year’s ICC Cricket World Cup. Scotiabank is not only a well-known and trusted regional brand in the Caribbean, but it has also been an excellent supporter of junior cricket in the region. Their support of the ICC Cricket World Cup is a further demonstration of their commitment to the game and we are extremely grateful they have chosen to join the family of ICC’s commercial partners.”

Scotiabank has been involved in the communities of the Caribbean since 1889 when the first Scotiabank branch opened in Kingston, Jamaica. Since that time, the bank has supported a wide range of important local and regional initiatives. Encouraging the sport of cricket in the West Indies plays an integral part to the bank’s aim of building strong relationships with people and communities.

In addition to this sponsorship, Scotiabank is also the official bank of West Indies Cricket and the exclusive sponsor of Scotiabank Kiddy Cricket.
