Santosh Sood, Chief Strategy Officer, Rediffusion DY&R, has put in his papers. Sources close to the development confirmed the news. Sood ends his stint with Rediff on the last day of the year, on December 31, 2006.
Sood had joined Rediffusion DY&R as COO-Regions in the latter part of 2003. However, in a sudden reshuffle of portfolios in August 2006, he was made Chief Strategy Officer of the agency, responsible for planning and strategy. He was replaced by Ramesh Srivats, who moved to Delhi as EVP. He was EVP-South before moving to Delhi.
Sood could not be contacted at the time of filing this report. However, the grapevine has it that Sood may either set up his agency or move to the client side. He is learnt to be toying with options currently available to him.
Sood is an industry veteran who has spent almost 16 years with Lowe in two stints. He joined Lowe in 1985 after completing his MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad. In between, for three years, 1992-1995, he had headed Sistas Delhi (now Saatchi & Saatchi).
Subsequently, he came back to Lowe in 1995. He quit the agency in September 2003 as Executive Vice-president. He has worked on brands such as LG, Maruti, Nestle, Dabur, Airtel, GM and Bacardi. He is especially fond of his work for UNICEF.
