The Advertising Club Bangalore has elected Malavika R Harita, CEO, Saatchi & Saatchi Focus, as its new President for the year 2009-10. Harita takes over from PR Satheesh, COO, Tag Media Network, who is the outgoing President.
Speaking on her agenda as the new President, Harita said, “The Ad Club Bangalore has been fairly active in the past, leading with the Big Bang. I am now looking at increasing the activities and hope to have something every 6-8 weeks. We have in the past done sports activities, which got good response, now we will look at getting people from outside Bangalore who can engage the fraternity in an intellectual discussion on advertising. Besides, the focus is also to include younger people studying communication and have a meaningful conversation with them which will contribute in their learning.”
Commenting on his tenure, Satheesh said, “It has been a hectic year, where we managed to do events involving the advertising fraternity, besides the Big Bang. It has been an enriching experience.”
The committee for this year includes a few old members, some new members and also those who have in the past been members and have joined again. The members of the committee include – PR Satheesh, Arvind Kumar (CEO, Visar Media and Executive Director of Ad Club), RT Kumar (MD Oysters Advertising), Mythili Nirvan (MD, Prachar Media Solutions), Darshan M (COO, Deccan Chronicle), Mala James (VP, MAA Communications), Manohar Mason (MD, Pentagon Communications), Rajesh Gangwani (Senior VP, JWT), Prateek Srivastava (Group President, Ogilvy, South), Navin Nair (Madison Communications), and Prithviraj Sen Gupta (Senior Planning Manager, Madison Communications).
