Rubecon to handle RPG Wings account

RPG Cellular, has pulled the advertising for Wings Prepaid service from Lowe. The account has gone to Rubecon Communications, which already handles RPG Cellular's Post-paid account. The two accounts together are estimated to be at Rs 8 crore.

Chennai-based Rubecon took over the advertising for RPG's Post-paid segment about a year ago from Ogilvy & Mather. Its recent "Chennai speaks RPG" campaign was well received in the industry and by consumers according to company sources.

RPG Cellular claims a subscriber base of 1.5 lakh, and aims to add 50,000 subscribers by the end of this fiscal. While the post-paid segment generates more average revenue and helps build brand loyalty, the prepaid segment is key to increasing the subscriber base.
