RMG Connect’s Rakhshin Patel joins list of Indians on Cannes 2006 juries

Cannes 2006 organisers have named the last two juries for the international advertising festival. The lone Indian in the Lions Direct jury is Rakhshin Patel, Senior Vice-President and General Manager, RMG Connect, India.

The Lions Direct and Radio Lions juries were announced on April 5. Steve Harrison, Creative Director, Harrison Troughton Wunderman and Worldwide Creative Director, Wunderman will lead the Lions Direct jury.

“We are enormously proud that the Lions Direct category has, in just a few years, become the most prestigious international direct marketing competition, and winning a Lion, the most sought-after trophy. This year’s top judges will once again be looking to set high creative standards in the industry,” said Terry Savage, Executive Chairman of the Festival.

The 32-member Lions Direct jury has just four Asians, one of whom is Rakhshin Patel.

“After the successful launch of Radio Lions last year, with the jury unanimously delighted in the effectiveness of judging the entries in their original language, this year’s jury will once again be looking to award creative excellence in this increasingly creative category,” added Savage.

The Lions Direct jury will meet in Cannes and commence voting on June 14, and the awards will be presented on June 19, 2006. Chaired by Guillaume van der Stighelen, Copywriter and Creative Partner of Duval Guillaume Belgium, the Radio Lions jury will begin judging in Cannes on June 16, and the winners will be announced on June 20, 2006.
