RK Swamy/BBDO make two key appointments; Ramamurthy Iyer, Sanjeev Dassani come on board

RK Swamy/BBDO has recently made two senior level appointments. Ramamurthy Iyer, former Associate VP, Advertising Avenues, has joined as Client Services Director. He will be reporting to Shailen Sohoni, Senior Vice-President, RK Swamy/BBDO. Sanjeev Dassani, Creative Director, Pressman Advertising, has joined RK Swamy/BBDO Kolkata, as Creative Group Head, Copy Department.

Said Sohoni, “Iyer will be looking after the Raymond account, and I am confident his induction in the agency will help us serve our clients better.”

Commenting on his new appointment, Iyer said, “Raymond is a very important account for the agency and there are a number of senior people in the team who have been working on this account for several years now. Therefore, as a new entrant, my primary mandate will be to work as a team and take care of the overall operations.”

Iyer, a MBA from University of Pune, began his career in 1986 with Shilpi Advertising. After spending two years in the agency, he moved to MAA Bozell in 1988 and served the organisation for nearly a year. Iyer’s first innings with Advertising Avenues began in 1989. His next destination was Everest, which he joined in 1994. He served the agency for seven years and joined JWT, Nepal in 2001. He then had a brief stint with a Pune-based agency, Cygnus. Iyer’s second innings with Advertising Avenues began in 2003.

Dassani, who joins RK Swamy/BBDO Kolkata as the Creative Group Head, began his career in Pressman, where he worked for six years. He worked on brands like Orient Fans, IBP Red, Tata Motors, Bata, Kitply, SAIL, BHEL, Wockhardt, British Council, UCO Bank, BOC India, Senco Gold, and Mother Dairy, among others.
