RK Swamy BBDO Delhi wins creative mandate for Suzuki scooter launch

Close on the heels of winning Eldeco Developers and the Godfrey Phillips’ Bravery Awards accounts, RK Swamy BBDO Delhi has won the creative duties for the first scooter model to be launched by Suzuki Motorcycles India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL). The account size is an estimated Rs 12 crore.

Grey Worldwide handles SMIPL’s motorbikes business.

It has already been reported in sections of the media that Suzuki Motorcycles India is planning to launch a 125cc variometric scooter by September 2007.

Confirming the news, Sunil Kukreti, Vice-President, RK Swamy BBDO Delhi, said, “We are delighted to win this new business. We will be working on the entire communication package for the scooter that will be launched.”

Kureti disclosed that it will be a 360-degree national multimedia campaign that would include print, TVC, outdoor hoardings, Internet and BTL activities like banners, mailers, etc. “We have already begun work on the branding of the scooter and we look forward to its launch,” he said.

Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC), Japan, has 74 per cent stake in its Indian subsidiary, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIL). SMIL marks Suzuki's re-entry into the Indian two-wheeler market after it severed ties with partner TVS in 2000-01. Suzuki was the technology provider in the erstwhile joint venture company TVS Suzuki.
