Rediffusion DY&R Kolkata has bagged the creative duties of Spencer’s, RPG Group’s retail business. Sources close to the development peg the size of the business at upwards of Rs 10 crore. The incumbent agency was Grey Worldwide. The other agency in the fray was JWT. Rediffusion will take over as creative partner from September 1, 2006.

The account till recently was serviced from Chennai and the shift to Kolkata has happened as part of the RPG Group’s top management’s decision. The strategy is to bring greater focus on the retail business because of its potential and ambitious growth plans.

It is also learnt that the group is in the process of reviewing its media AOR. Grey is currently handling the media duties. The agencies in the fray for this are reportedly Rediff’s The Media Edge (TME), Mindshare and Initiative Media. A decision on this is likely to be taken by next month.
