Rediffusion hires seasoned experts to strengthen Chennai team

In an effort to strengthen the advertising team of Rediffusion DY&R Chennai and streamline the different functions, Gopal S Krishnan, former Branch Head of TBWA, Chennai, has been appointed as Branch Director, Rediffusion DY&R Chennai effective from June 2. He will be reporting to Sonny Deenadayalan who is the overall Branch Head of Rediffusion DY&R Chennai. Ramesh Srivats, appointed as Vice President South, would handle operations from Bangalore. He was earlier with JWT Bangalore, and would replace Mahesh Chauhan who took office as the President of Everest Integrated Communications in March 2004. Confirming the development, Preet Bedi, President, Rediffusion DY&R, said, “The overall management of Rediffusion DY&R Chennai will be handled by Sonny along with direct response (Wunderman) while Gopal will be in charge of all mass media operations that take place out of Rediffusion DY&R Chennai.”

Speaking about the strengthening efforts, Sonny Deenadayalan, said, “Gopal has been brought on board to specifically strengthen our advertising operations and he will work closely with Ramesh in the organic growth of our current businesses and to bring in new business while he will work with me on the financials, affiliations and expansion fronts.”

Rediffusion DY&R Chennai with the new additions to the board and its strategic BAV tool, Brand Asset Valuator, DY&R’s global planning tool, a proprietary study for building and managing brands that takes into account the way in which brands gain and lose strength, is looking towards adding to its pool of clients and expanding operations in the South.

Rediffusion DY&R Chennai’s Wunderman portfolio of clients includes Citibank, Ford Motor Company and the British Council while the advertising wing has MRF, Airtel and the Taj Group of Hotels in its clientele.
