Rediff’s buys vernacular mailing technology from Webduniya.com

Rediff has bought the technology to enhance its mailing system, which offers mailing in English. With the acquisition of the technology, Rediff will now be able to offer mailing in 11 different Indian languages apart from the existing mailing in English. The languages in which Rediff will now offer mailing include - Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Assamese, Marathi, Gujarati, Oriya, Kannada, and Bengali.

Rediff is also looking at adding other features like chat, search engine, e-greetings etc in other Indian languages.

Webduniya is also engaged in developing a Hindi search engine for commercial sale by March this year. Webduniya already provides the content to indya.com and sify.com and is keen on offering its mailing solutions to them for which it has already initiated talks.
