Reckitt Benckiser has brought on board Richard Davies as Director Global Media with effect from May 13, 2013.
Davies, who is a lawyer by training, brings with him a wealth of knowledge of the media industry from both, agency and client side. His early career was spent in agencies working on a number of blue-chip international accounts across a variety of industry sectors. He has worked with Saatchi, JWT and Ogilvy, where he was part of their European media team.
He later joined Mindshare as part of the start-up team. Davies then moved to Switzerland, joining a sports TV-rights marketing company, working with rights holders including FIFA and UEFA. He then moved to IPG’s Initiative Media where he worked on HP, Compaq and Unilever business.
In 2004, Davies joined Unilever, based in Singapore, where he was appointed VP media Asia/AMET and was charged with establishing and leading media operations in the Asia, Africa, Middle East & Turkey region. He later moved to Switzerland as VP Media responsible for the delivery of media services to Unilever operating companies including global media negotiations and was responsible for establishing global links with key digital players.
