Ravi Deshpande, Contract India’s Chief Creative Officer, is joining a team of judges that selects the gold, silver and bronze Pencil winners awarded at the The One Show 2006. The One Show is a premiere international advertising award show held in New York and in a way sets the industry standard for creative excellence with categories including print, television radio, outdoor, innovative media and marketing, and integrated branding.
Each year, a wide variety of work from multinational advertising giants to small regional shops is judged by an international jury of award-winning art directors, copywriters and creative directors.
A group of international judges will select the winning submissions of the One Show, One Show Interactive, One Show Design and One Show College Competition. These creative directors, art directors, designers, and copywriters represent the expanded international scope of The One Club; past judges have represented the US, England, Brazil, Holland, South Africa and this year India, too, has been added to the list.
All work, be it broadcast, print, interactive, or design, are judged in anonymity. This allows even the smallest agencies to be on equal competitive footing with worldwide giants.
Commenting on his selection to the jury, an excited Deshpande said, “This is certainly something to feel happy about as there will be a really talented bunch of people who will exchange ideas at the show. It definitely is a process that stimulates creative people and keeps us going.”
Each year, winners are presented their Gold, Silver or Bronze Pencils at a gala award show and party in New York City. From there, the winning work becomes part of the One Club’s international travelling exhibition making annual stops in Japan, Brazil, China, South Africa, among others. All winning work, including Pencil and Merit winners, are also archived in the One Club’s online database.
