R Balki hosts Lowe India’s first ever True Show Awards along with Cyrus Brocha

Lowe’s True Show and Lintas Media Group Awards together worked like a magnet in drawing the attention of the advertising industry’s two stalwarts – Sam Balsara and Piyush Pandey – who were present at the event to appreciate R Balki’s efforts at co-hosting the show with MTV’s Cyrus Brocha.

Uncommon as common sense might be today, at Lowe’s True Show Awards, the perspective was common sense, yet the idea was to take the understanding to a higher level, and which is why Lowe adjudicated the special awards, explored to perfection by Broacha’s level of insightful learning of reading between the lines.

Just when everybody present at the venue thought that the show was about spreading the feel good factor to fellow agencies, it ushered Ogilvy’s very own Piyush Pandey and team, and also client Vodafone with ‘Out of Lowe True Show’. Balki came up with a twist in the story by announcing the ‘Not so True Show’ award for the Luxor campaign, which we feel was uncalled for.

After this climax, came another category - ‘Lesson in Advertising True Show’ award, which was given to the Big Bazaar and Mudra team, this was followed by ‘Non-traditional media True Show’ award, which was given to teams of MTV and LIN Opinion.

This was followed by the Lintas Media Group Award, which was conferred on Madhukar Kamath, President, IBF (JG) and President of AAAI, for demonstrating the triumph of the spirit of collaboration by enabling the signing of the historic peace treaty – ‘IBF-AAAI agreement’. However, Kamath was ‘truly’ not present to receive his award.

The second and the most coveted award of the night went to Sam Balsara, who was awarded the ‘Outstanding collaboration’ trophy, for truly demonstrating the power and potential of Indian entrepreneurship at a time when multinational agencies are buying the ones in India.

Big FM walked away with ‘India Ahead’ award for recording the highest growth in audience base across all media forms in the shortest time.

The award show ended with Lintas Media felicitating the team from Idea with ‘Client True Show Award’.
