Quasar Media, a leading independent interactive communication agency, has won the online duties for Indiatimes Shopping. Indiatimes is one of the largest Internet companies in India and is a leading player in the online shopping sphere. Informed sources have divulged that the account size is worth Rs 10-12 crore.
GroupM’s online agency Interaction was the incumbent agency on the business. It will continue to handle the Indiatimes online travel business.
Indiatimes Head of Marketing Mohit Hira said, “We are very happy with the good work they have done in this field. They come on board with large experience, tools and approaches on digital media and we are delighted to be associated with them.”
Quasar Media Co-founder and Business Head Manish Vij said, “We believe that digital advertising will be around Rs 2,500 crore by 2010 and we will continue to hold a market share of around 20 per cent. Indiatimes is one of the largest Internet brands in India and we will not only share our learnings with them but also, together, learn and execute the growth in online shopping and ensure they continue to be the largest brand in online shopping.”
Vij added that the agency would handle all digital media initiatives for Indiatimes including search, Internet, mobile and Web 2.0.
