Piyush Pandey, K V Sridhar, Elsie Nanji, Bobby Pawar, Josy Paul & Agnello Dias are Creative Abby Jury Chairs at GoaFest 2010

GoaFest 2010 is all set for the Creative Abby Awards, and has recently made a slew of appointments of the Jury Chairperson for the various awards categories. Piyush Pandey is Jury Chairman – Integrated. K V Sridhar, also known as Pops, will Chair the Print category. Elsie Nanji is Chairperson for Design. Bobby Pawar will Chair Out-of-Home and Ambient Media. Josy Paul is Jury Chairperson for Radio & Agnello Dias, also known as Aggie, will Chair the Film Jury.

Piyush Pandey, Executive Chairman and NCD, Ogilvy India and South Asia, has been appointed as the Jury Chairman for the Integrated category. Pandey needs no introduction in the advertising world. Under his leadership, O&M India has won 25 Cannes Lions. In 2004, he became the first Asian to be the president of the Cannes jury. He is the only Indian to have won three Grand Prizes at the London International Advertising Awards.

KV Sridhar a.k.a. Pops has been appointed as the Jury Chairman for the Print category. From humble beginnings as a Bollywood film billboard painter to the National Creative Director of Leo Burnett India, Pops has seen it all, and today is widely respected as a creative leader in the Indian advertising fraternity. Under his creative leadership, Leo Burnett India went on to win Agency of the Year in the Leo Burnett global network, twice. The agency has won nine Cannes Lions in the past two years under his guidance. In July this year, Pops was honoured with the New York Festivals Creative Achievement Award.

Elsie Nanji, Managing Partner of Red Lion, has been appointed as the Jury Chairperson in the Design category for the Creative Abbys. In 2009, Red Lion was the winner of a Gold award at GoaFest, Silver and Gold Spikes at Spikes Asia, and a Silver Lion at Cannes Lions -- all in the Design category. Elsie is a multiple award winner at both Indian and international award shows, including the Clio Awards, Cannes Lions, D&AD and The One Show.

Bobby Pawar has been appointed as the Jury Chairman – Out Of Home and Ambient categories. Pawar is the Chief Creative Officer of Mudra Group. He was handpicked for his responsibility at Mudra by Bob Scarpelli, Chairman and CCO of DDB Worldwide. In the two and half years that Bobby has been with Mudra, he has acquired a reputation for creating some of the best through-the-line solutions in the country. Under his stewardship, Mudra won its first Cannes awards and Grand Prix at local shows.

Josy Paul is the Jury Chairman for Radio category. He is the Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of BBDO India. He is currently setting up BBDO in India as one of its founding partners. Paul is a winner of India's first One Show Pencil - in 2002. Since then, he has won numerous Indian and international advertising awards.

Agnello Dias has been appointed as the Jury Chairman for the Film category. Aggie has spent two decades in the Indian advertising industry working on a host of major Indian and international brands. In 2007, he made a history in Indian advertising by winning the country’s first ever Grand Prix and Titanium/Integrated lion at Cannes besides leading JWT to the best ever performance by an Indian advertising agency at the festival and to the No.1 spot in the WPP network. He has also won multiple Grand Prix at GoaFest as also the Grand Effie in the same year.

Currently in its fifth year, advertising festival GoaFest is organised by The Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) in association with The Advertising Club Bombay (ACB). More than 3000 delegates from the advertising and allied industries attend the event to witness the high-profile seminars, workshops and listen to keynote speakers from across the globe.

The industry needs to exercise a certain level of this self-restraint to prove its commitment to maintaining the best standards in advertising.
