Paymate India Private Ltd has appointed MPG, Mumbai, as its media planning and buying agency. The mobile payment/commerce solutions company was on the lookout for a media agency for quite sometime.
The pitch process that happened in January this year saw the participation of just two agencies -- Lintas Media and MPG. The size of the account could not be ascertained despite repeated attempts.
When queried on the same, Probir Roy, Co-Founder and Director of Paymate and CoruscantTec (a Mumbai-based wireless solutions company with focus on content and commerce), said, “The strategy that you employ is important and not the amount that you are going to spend. We will evaluate the nature of the campaign and its effectiveness. We will come up with a quarter-wise marketing and media programme based on the response that we get from our campaign.”
For the record, the brand’s campaign is currently visible in all Times Group properties. The 13-city campaign kicked off in Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Pune on March 16 and will follow in subsequent cities over a period of one week.
Commenting on the reasons for choosing MPG, Roy said, “We wanted to get the best. We feel MPG is the right partner for us at this point of time. We find them quick in their response and flexible in their thinking. They expressed s lot of enthusiasm in partnering us.”
The company recently appointed Lowe as its creative agency, while its online account is being handled by Tribal DDB.
